Real-time Home Monitoring on Your Phone? Philips Smart Lock is Surprisingly Handy!

Sep. 09, 2024

As a versatile home assistant, the Philips Smart Lock DDL702-FVP combines a peephole, doorbell, and door lock into one. Not only does it offer the convenience and efficiency of facial recognition for unlocking, but it also delivers a wide range of smart features that you can actually see. After pairing it with your phone, what other hidden gems does it offer? Let’s find out!

Doorbell Calls, Remote Communication

Worried that your friends or family might drop by when you’re not home, only to leave disappointed? Not anymore!

The Philips Smart Lock DDL702-FVP comes with a built-in doorbell. When a visitor presses the doorbell, a notification is immediately sent to your phone. With just a tap, you can engage in two-way communication with the visitor and even send a 30-minute temporary password with one click, allowing them to enter your home effortlessly, even when you’re not there.

Abnormal Door Activity, Instant Alerts

Concerned about the security of your front door? No need to be!

The Philips Smart Lock DDL702-FVP is equipped with a radar detection sensor that intelligently monitors abnormal loitering within a 1-meter range outside your door. If someone lingers, the lock will instantly capture a video and send a real-time alert to your phone, reducing potential security risks and giving you top-level peace of mind.

Note that the loitering alert feature is disabled by default and needs to be activated through the app. You can also customize the sensitivity of the loitering detection, with a high-sensitivity range of 1 meter and a low-sensitivity range of 0.5 meters. The loitering duration can be set to 10, 20, 30, or 60 seconds.

Complete Control Over Door Lock Activity

Who unlocked the door? When was it unlocked? Is the door locked now? How much battery is left? All these “lock” concerns can be easily addressed with just a glance at your phone.

The Philips Smart Lock DDL702-FVP supports seamless management via your phone. You can view the lock’s status, unlocking records, remaining battery life, and more in real-time. By tapping the video button, you can even check the view outside your door remotely, keeping your home’s safety firmly in your hands.

Helpful Tips:

If the smart lock shows it’s connected to the network but isn’t sending notifications, try removing and re-pairing the device in the app. Note that the lock only supports the 2.4GHz frequency band during pairing, not public networks or 5GHz. If your router has dual bands, select the 2.4GHz band for pairing.
